Why Use a Lighting Designer

What is the proper height to hang the light over the kitchen table, the outdoor lanterns at the front door, the lights in the bathroom. For that matter, what is the best light for the bath, how many and how bright? Is it the same in the Master Bath as in the Powder Room?

Is there any real difference between one recessed light and another? One housing says TC on the label and another says IC. How many recessed lights do I need to light the kitchen? And not just how many, but how far apart and which bulb do I use?

What is a BR30, a PAR38, an IC can verses a TC can? Where would you use a 3 inch, 4 inch, 5 inch or 6 inch can? Low voltage or line current? How many do I need to light my kitchen?
